The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Wednesday's Best NCAAB Bet

Iowa Hawkeyes at Penn State Nittany Lions (-7, 132)

Don’t look now, but the Nittany Lions aren’t terrible. Penn State has won two of its past four games with those victories coming over Illinois and Michigan State in Happy Valley. The losses? To No. 1 Ohio State and No. 12 Purdue by a combined four points. In fact, if not for a botched call on a ball swatted out of bounds, the Lions likely would have beaten the Boilermakers in West Lafayette.

One of the big reasons for Penn State’s sudden surge is the emergence of senior Jeff Brooks. The forward is second in the Big Ten in making 64.2 percent of his field goals, and led the team in points (19), rebounds (8), assists (5) and blocks (3) in the late loss to Purdue.

And Brooks knows just how much his team depends on him to provide a second option to star guard Talor Battle (20.2 ppg).

“I’ve been trying to play this way all season,” Brooks said. “When I play aggressive, we all play aggressive. We all feed off each other, especially the seniors. Hopefully all of us can keep this rolling.”

Iowa, meantime, has lost six of its past seven games and dropped its three Big Ten road games by an average of 18.3 points per game.

And if you think the Bryce Jordan Center on Dollar Dog Night won’t be an intimidating venue, chew on this: the home team is 7-2 ATS in the team’s past nine meetings.

Pick: Penn State

PICK 'N' ROLL

Wednesday's Best NBA Bet

Memphis Grizzlies at New Jersey Nets (+3, 191)

The Grizzlies are getting close to becoming something rare for them – a playoff team.

Memphis – 6-4 SU and 6-4 ATS in its past 10 – is starting to play quality clubs close and beating the team’s it should beat too. Overall, Memphis is 20-8 ATS in its past 28 and a strong 12-5 ATS in its past 17 road games.

Swingman Rudy Gay is the team’s leader, including burying a buzzer-beating jumper in a 100-98 win over Toronto last week. But it’s been the inspired play of forward Zach Randolph that has the Grizzlies surging. Randolph hasn’t been afraid of doing the dirty work down low, logging a double-double in each of a franchise-record 11 straight games, including 17 points and 12 rebounds in the win over the Raptors.

What stands out, however, is that Randolph attempted most of his 24 field goals in the paint and had only one turnover.

The team also will benefit from a healthy Tony Allen. One of the best defensive stoppers in the league, Allen had cracked the starting lineup before being derailed by an injury. But his recent comeback means Sam Young can play fewer minutes and won’t be relied on as heavily to shut down opposing players.

"We're finishing like a playoff team," Memphis guard Mike Conley said. "We're making the right passes, making the right plays and getting the big stops when we need them."

Pick: Memphis

Wednesday's Best NHL Bets

Carolina Hurricanes at New York Islanders (+117, 5.5)

One point. That’s all that sits between the Hurricanes and a playoff berth. Carolina has won six of its past 10 games as the young club is playing its best hockey of the season.

The 'Canes are led by star rookie rookie center Jeff Skinner. The first-year pivot has 18 goals and 22 assists this season and is among the rookie leaders in both statistical categories as he is one of the favorites for the Calder Trophy. Over his past 10 games – coinciding with the team’s hot streak – he has six goals, five assists and is plus-6.

"His hands are brilliant," Carolina coach Paul Maurice said. "He's got all the elements that you want. He's committed, he's focused, he worked his butt off this summer to get into great shape. ... He has a passion for the game."

Meantime, the Islanders simply can’t get anything going. New York has dropped seven of its past 10 games and allowed an average of 3.7 goals per game over that span.

In the only meeting this year, Carolina beat up the Isles 7-2. Oh, and Skinner had a goal and an assist and was plus-1 in the win.

Pick: Carolina

Phoenix Coyotes at Colorado Avalanche (-144, 5.5)

These two sides haven’t exactly been defensive stalwarts the past few weeks.

Phoenix, which has seen the over go 28-19 in 47 games this season, has allowed at least four goals in three of its past four contests. Overall, the Coyotes have played to the over in seven of their past eight.

"I think that's been an interesting stretch since about 7 in the morning on Dec. 26," Shane Doan said. "It's been a pretty good run; it's been hectic. As a group, we'll definitely enjoy the four days (for the All-Star Break)."

But before the festivities begin, the Avalanche must find a way to keep the puck out of their own net. Colorado has seen the over hit in 31 of 48 games this season and the past four overall. And it’s not the team’s outstanding offense blowing up the scoreboard. It’s the team’s abysmal defense and goaltending.

No. 1 Craig Anderson has battled injuries this year and his poor numbers – 3.13 goals-against average and .902 save percentage – led to him ultimately being pulled after coughing up four goals in just two periods of a 6-2 loss to Boston this weekend. Backup Peter Budaj has been equally awful. He has a 3.12 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage and has allowed at least three goals in each of his past 12 starts.

Bettors' best friend: Wednesday's wagering tips

Injury to remember

Warriors guard Stephen Curry is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Hornets after spraining his ankle in practice on Tuesday. Curry is averaging 18.7 points and 5.9 assists per game this season. Golden State went 2-4 straight up and 3-3 against the spread without Curry in the lineup earlier this season.

Best trends

Under is 7-1 in Raptors’ last eight games.

The Jazz are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games. They’ve given up 105.7 point per game over the stretch and the over is 8-2.

The Texas Longhorns are 9-1 SU in their last 10 games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight lined games.

The Atlanta Thrashers have won just one of their last eight games and have lost by five or more goals three times during the slump.

Tips and notes

-The Atlanta Hawks will have their first healthy lineup for the first time since Dec. 29. Forward Marvin Williams is expected to return from a nagging back injury while Al Horford’s ankle seems to be fully healed.

"For the most part, I think everybody is going to be OK," Hawks head coach Larry Drew told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Monday. "Should have everybody back tomorrow."

-The pressure is really starting to build for the Indiana Pacers. Coach Jim O’Brien’s contract expires at the end of the year and he knows if his team doesn’t make the playoffs, he won’t be asked to return.

O’Brien is changing up his rotation leaving vets James Posey and T.J. Ford glued to the bench in favor of youngsters A.J. Price and Paul George. Now O’Brien is threatening to drop Brandon Rush from the game lineup too.

"[Rush] drifts in and out," O'Brien told the Indianapolis Star. "Sometimes he seems to be very focused on what we're trying to do and other times you look at his stat line or the impact he's having on the game. . . . Every coach wants reliability from anybody they have on the court. They want to know what to expect."

The Pacers went 0-4 on their four-game road swing and host the Magic on Wednesday.

-It’s being billed as BYU’s biggest home game ever but it most likely will be No. 4 San Diego State that could come down with a case of nerves. BYU, along with sweet-shooting guard Jimmer Freddette, is proven a commodity in the college hoops community.

The Aztecs lack a signature win and have just one win against BYU in the last six meetings. Oh, and there’s going to be multiple NBA scouts in attendance to check out Jimmer. Something tells us San Diego State hasn’t played many games it knew NBA scouts would be watching from the stands.
